Live Demonstration Brain Biopsy in Hualien Tzu Chi Medical Center

The Live Demonstration of NaoTrac in Hualien Tzu-Chi Medical Center

On the afternoon of August 11, this international live-demo academy seminar attracted more than 113 people around the world including international medical leaders participating in the academy seminar. Brain Navi collaborated with the clinical-experienced neurosurgery team, led by Dr. Tsung Lang, Chiu of Hualien Tzu-Chu Medical Center to proceed with a Live Demonstration of “ Brain Tumor Biopsy Surgery by Robot Navigation”.

This “Brain Tumor Biopsy Surgery by Robot Navigation” was using the technology of “Direct Frameless Stereotaxic Technology”, NaoTract assisted in navigating to plan the surgical pathway to the target point – brain tumor, and the operation was led by Dr. Tsung Lang, Chiu, the director of the Neuromedical Science Center of Hualien Tzu-Chi Medical Center; at the same time, Prof. Dr. Shinn Zong, Lin, the superintendent of the Hualien Tzu-Chi Medical Center and Ph.D. Chieh Hsiao, Chen ( Jerry Chen), and the CEO of Brain Navi  Biotechnology, were connected in the conference room of the second site.

Dr. Chiu mentioned that non-invasive, non-contact patient imaging related to data analytics can help a lot during surgery. The robotic arm system generates a 3D three-dimensional model, allowing doctors to plan the surgical pathway quickly and accurately before surgery.

This is the first event of “The Future Operation Room” project of Hualien Tzu Chi Medical Center. Prof. Dr. Shinn-Zong and Lin also give a high prospectus to the surgical robot technology, ” In the fields of surgery and new drug development, including cell therapy, cell transplantation, chip implantation, etc., one of the common focuses is “accuracy”.” He also gives the conclusion on this kind of technology, “With the efforts of smart medical technology and professional medical teams, there will be more room for collaborative development and progress in the future, and the “Future Operating Room” will also focus on the development of Parkinson’s disease and the other application.
